How Old is Your Boss?

            Mr. Schmiggley's employees wanted to know how old he was.  Mr. Schmiggley, not wanting to miss a teachable moment, agreed to tell them by posing the following riddle.

"Well I'll tell you this much, I am 31 years older than my son who is 18 years older than my granddaughter.  But if you add my age and my granddaughter's age together you would have 51 years old.  So how old am I?"

            Can you figure out how old Mr. Schmiggley is?  You might get a raise!  Hmmmm, then again maybe not.
